Privacy Policy
Effective 4 June 2026
When you send a renovation enquiry, you share details about your home. This notice explains what Thompson Renovate Group collects through this website, why we use it, and how to ask us to remove it, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
This policy covers the website and its enquiry forms. Your project details stay with the people handling your conversation.
What We Collect
We collect what you choose to send in a project enquiry, along with limited technical information that helps us understand how the site is used.
- Contact details
-
Your name, email address, phone number, and postcode help us reply and confirm whether a project is in our service area.
Why we ask
We use your preferred contact method to follow up about the home or renovation you described. You can leave a field blank if it is not required by the form.
- Project information
-
We receive the project type, description, timing, and any budget context you decide to include.
What to leave out
Share only what is useful for an initial conversation. Please do not send account passwords, payment-card details, tax file numbers, or other sensitive personal records.
- Photos and documents
- Images, sketches, plans, or other files are collected only when you choose to attach or send them. Check photos for people, mail, or other private details before sharing.
- Site activity
- Analytics may record browser type, device category, pages viewed, and basic visit information. Cookies may remember your consent choice and help measure site performance.
How Your Information Is Used
We use enquiry details to respond to you and prepare for a useful first conversation. We do not sell or rent personal details.
-
Reply and set a time
Your contact details let us answer questions and arrange a renovation consultation.
For example, we may call about the best time to discuss your kitchen project. -
Prepare for the project conversation
We review your description and images to make useful scope notes and discuss pricing context.
A room photo can help us understand the existing layout before we speak. -
Improve the site
Aggregated analytics can show which design guides readers use, so we can make future articles more relevant.
We may see that a budgeting guide gets visits, not who read it by name. -
Keep appropriate records
We may retain or use information when needed for legal, safety, accounting, or record-keeping duties.
Project records can help us document agreed work and decisions.
Storage, Security and How Long We Keep It
Kept for the people handling your project.
Enquiry details are stored in the systems used to receive and manage website messages. Access is limited to people in the practice who need the information to respond or carry out project work.
We use reasonable technical and workplace safeguards to protect contact details and project materials. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure.
See our retention periods
If an enquiry does not become a project, we keep its details for up to 24 months after our last meaningful contact, then delete or remove identifying details unless a legal or safety reason requires longer storage.
For completed work, project records may be kept for up to ten years after completion to support business, tax, statutory warranty, and legal record-keeping. We remove or limit personal information when it is no longer needed.
If a service provider helps us host the site, deliver a message, or measure site performance, it may process information for that task. It may not use your enquiry details as a product for sale. Some providers may store data outside Australia; we take reasonable steps to make sure they handle it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Your Choices and How to Reach Us
You can ask what personal information we hold and request a change or deletion. We will review the request and explain if a record must be kept for a legal or business reason.
- Ask for access. Request a copy or description of the information connected with your enquiry.
- Correct a detail. Tell us if your contact information or project notes are wrong.
- Request deletion. Ask us to remove your enquiry details and any photographs you sent, subject to required record-keeping.
- Change your preferences. Use your browser settings to manage cookies, or contact us about an analytics or communication choice.
Send a privacy request
Include the email or phone number you used to contact us and say what you want changed. Please do not include sensitive documents in your first message. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
